Challenge! Is a specialized steel construction, machining and piping company, located on site in the Port of Amsterdam. With expertise in offshore, ship repair and new construction, we carry out large-scale (heavy) construction work and maritime projects.

The role:

Are you a CNC Machine Operator who enjoys machining unique medium to large single piece workpieces? In this position you will work independently, mainly with CNC machines. You read drawings and have prior contact with the Foreman or Work Planner for preparation. With your expertise, you contribute to improvements in working methods and ensure quality control of your work. You manufacture high-quality products for customers in various sectors, such as the maritime sector, metal industry and municipality of Amsterdam, as well as international projects.

Job Description:

• As CNC Machine Operator your daily tasks include:
• Preparing and operating a CNC lathe according to drawings, CNC programs, instructions and verbal directions.
• Setting, measuring tools and preparing CNC machines for tasks such as drilling, grinding and milling.
• Perform simple daily maintenance on machines and tools.

Job Requirements:

• Sense of responsibility and ability to work accurately and independently.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar position.
• Experience with drawing reading and knowledge of size, shape, and plate tolerances.
• Experience with lifting tools.
• Knowledge of the behavior of different materials in machining.
